Operations Manual
Revision Number: 13
Effective Date: 020709
Part One: Mission
Statement/General Information
To provide the community of flight
simulator pilots with a virtually realistic
environment in which to fly. The only requirements are that you have a love of
aviation, and a desire to participate. There are no
minimum hour requirements. We only ask that, once you accept an
assignment, that it be completed within 45 days.
This virtual airline was started and named to honor the many men and
women who tragically lost their lives in the attacks on September 11,
2001, and the many heroes that have since responded to the call of duty.
We aim to keep their memories alive.

Part Two: Flight
Assignments
All routes are
flown point-to-point. This means that if you are starting
from your home field in, say, Philadelphia (KPHL), you might be scheduled
to fly to Denver (KDEN). Your next flight, therefore, would originate from
Denver (KDEN). Unscheduled landings are NOT allowed, except in the case of
extreme emergency.
FreedomAir is a
civilian air carrier. At no time will FreedomAir take part in a
military operation or exercise. As well, military aircraft shall not be
used for any FreedomAir flight. Unless given special preauthorization, NO
FREEDOMAIR FLIGHT SHALL LAND AT A MILITARY INSTALLATION.
There are never any date or time requirements in regard to when you complete a flight assignment. However, it is required that, once a flight is assigned, that it be completed within forty-five days. As well, there are no minimum hour requirements. We are aware that there are "non-virtual" schedules to be maintained. You are only scheduled to fly as many hours as YOU desire. If your flight is not completed within three weeks, you will receive an email reminding you of the forty-five day to complete policy. If, after 45 days, your flight is still not completed, you will be listed as on Leave Of Absence. After 60 days, you will be subject to removal from the roster. All log entries are submitted to Operations at the completion of each FreedomAir flight. Please be sure to utilize the form provided on the PIREPS page. Your log will be updated, and you will receive a new flight assignment usually within forty-eight hours. Sometimes less, rarely more. For information regarding what is required for a complete log entry, see Pilot Logbooks page of FreedomAir. NO FreedomAir flights are to depart without prior authorization from Operations. This includes pilots assigned to hub routes. ALL FreedomAir flights are to be on an assignment basis ONLY. Any flight that has not been assigned by FreedomAir will NOT count toward FreedomAir hours. As well, you will be asked to return to your last FreedomAir point of arrival to await your next assigned flight. No exceptions will be allowed. All Pilot Assignments are posted on the Pilots Roster page of FreedomAir, unless the pilot is assigned to a hub. (For information on Pilot Ranks and Privileges, please see the section so-labled later in this manual.) Please check this page before making your flight, if possible, in case of any changes. Once the assignment is completed, it will be removed from this page and replaced with your new assignment, once your log has been submitted and updated. All pilots start with the rank of Junior Flight Officer, and a tour of U.S. state capitols. Promotions occur at various stages of logged flight hours. The schedule of ranks and privileges is posted on the Pilots Roster page of FreedomAir. Pilots holding the rank of Senior Captain and above will be promoted to published routes. Pilots holding the rank of Senior Captain through ATP Sr. Commander will choose routes out of nine major hubs. For more detailed information regarding the hubs and their respective route choices, please see the FreedomAir Hubs and Routes section of this site. At the completion of published route ROUND TRIP flights, those pilots will submit their logs, and await release from Operations before their next flight. Any flights departing without a release from Operations will not be credited to your online logbook. As well, you will be asked to return to the airport from which you departed, and again await release from Operations. Transfers between hubs is allowed - by advance permission only. Those pilots wishing to change hubs must submit that request with their latest PIREPS submission. They will then be routed accordingly, via Operations, unless that transfer would leave any departing hub significantly understaffed, or requested hub overstaffed. Part Three (A): Pilot Ranks and Privileges (Chain Of Command) President/Chief
Executive Officer Part Three (B): Pilot Ranks and Privileges The Pilot Ranks page shows at what level of flight hours a promotion will occur, and what route privileges go along with the rank. Please note that ALL FreedomAir pilots start with a tour of the United States of America state capitals. Pilots joining FreedomAir with a home field in foreign lands, will be routed to the U.S. and subsequently toured through the state capitals.
